The Crittenden County Detention Center sends out two state road crews to work on Crittenden County State Roads. Each crew consists of a sworn deputy and four inmates. The crews work in conjunction with our local State Road Crews in Crittenden County.

They perform a wide variety of duties such as but not limited to weed eating around signs, picking up dead animals from roadways, picking up litter on state roadways and traffic control during construction projects.

The state of Kentucky pays for the deputy’s salaries and mileage on the jail vehicles used so that no tax dollars are spent in order to keep these to crews working.
